Appreciation for Other Schools

I sent a personalized email to the Principals and Athletic Directors of Napa HS and Vintage HS this week, expressing appreciation to them for accommodating New Tech student access to their programs. I wanted you to see what I wrote, as well as to share with you a response I've gotten from Napa's Athletic Director. If you are interested, click "read more".
My emails to Napa and Vintage were personalized based on each school's programs, but the general message to the schools was the same. Here is what I said to Barb Franco and Brian King from Napa:


I don't slow down often enough to express appreciation towards those who make a difference in the lives of students, and wanted to take a minute to do so now.

On behalf of New Technology High School, I want to thank the staff of Napa High School for supporting New Tech students. This year, we have had students participating in Napa football, baseball, and volleyball, as well as having students participate in Napa wrestling, softball and track in the past. New Tech students attend Napa's early flight program, have taken German classes, and participate in Napa's band and choir. We thank you for allowing our students to continue being a part of their residence-school's special programs and athletics. It enriches their lives and makes them more successful students and community members.

Game days at New Tech are wonderful, for we have students from all NVUSD high schools wearing their game day apparel, and the excitement and multi-school-spirit infuses our campus and our school culture. We attend Napa games and meets, and cheer for you and our students. We are proud to see your school colors and uniforms on our campus, and benefit in immeasurable ways by working in partnership with you.

Thank you for supporting access to your programs for New Technology students. Please know that we value and appreciate working in partnership with you to inspire all our students.Please feel free to share our appreciation with any / all of your Napa High School stakeholders.

Thank you so much for your kind letter.  Always glad to have the New Tech kids over here competing for us and making Napa High shine even brighter.  I know their plight is not always an easy one, being off-campus, but they are a determined bunch and always go the extra mile to be here, be prepared, and to compete with honor.  Being an SC21 teacher in the past, I have great respect for the work they do over at New Tech and am glad to see those skills developed over there on a daily basis.  Thank you for supporting Napa High Athletics and we look forward to many more years of working with you and your student-athletes.
