Monday Musings
Well I missed my own internal goal of publishing this blog every Friday. My apologies! I promise that I'll get better with this. Last week was a bang up week. We had a FULL house on Thursday night with our Penguin Parent Club. Every seat was taken with folks standing in the back. The final numbers aren't in yet, but it looks like there was a lot of Family Giving, and just a TON of parent volunteers. The other exciting event was Friday night's dance. It was a nice-sized group of silly yet well behaved students and boy oh boy did those kids dance. And run around outside. I was prepared for what I have come to believe is the "usual" trouble: inappropriate dress, inappropriate dancing, and maybe students under the influence. Imagine my complete and blissful delight to see that nothing of the sort occurred. The culture of this school is truly exceptional. I was filled with joy at seeing our students and their guests have so much fun without any sign of trouble. Thanks to Shawn Carlton, SuzAnne Wilson, and Bob Tildsey for helping out. And a big kudos goes out to Stephanie Ball and all of ASB for their fine leadership and coordination of the event. The student DJs were awesome too!!
