I'm pleased to let you know about some of returning staff members: welcome back to Nancy Hale and Andre Baldauf who will be team teaching Political Studies; Peter Abboud and Ariel Paisley who will be working with Lacey Kosanke to team teach the Spatial Studies, and welcome back to Tom Wolf in Bio-Fitness as well as Anne Seveska in American Studies. Please welcome our new arrival to New Tech: Suzanne Wilson is joining us from American Canyon HS to team with Tom Serene. Finally, we welcome Amy Gibson who will be our Coach, as Rebecca Pollack will be at American Canyon. We have not yet secured a Spanish teacher, but rest assured we're working aggressively on that.
The District Office has elected to use our fine facility for its two-day Management Retreat on Tuesday, August 9th and Wednesday, August 10th. There will be approximately 70 administrators from throughout the district in attendance. And yes, there is no parking available for them because our solar panels and awnings are being installed. Several of our classrooms and other rooms will be used during those two days, so I apologize in advance that you won't be able to work in them on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Our Back to School Schedule:
- Friday, August 12 - Mandatory Staff Development for all New Tech staff, 8:00-12:00
- Monday, August 15 - First Day of School, on an Advisory Schedule
- Friday, August 19 - Friday Advisory Schedule, with blocks 1, 3 & 5
For those of you who attended NTAC, remember that you agreed to facilitate a small-group review of our past "agreements" during Friday, August 12th's staff day. For a reminder, please refer to our Google doc for the Agenda. Look for the section highlighted in YELLOW. I'll be calling you to finalize the plan, but you can do some pre-thinking in advance.
