vMoM - New Tech Network is hosting a virtual meeting of the minds. Christie should be sending you an email with details. If you are interested in going, please let Christie know. She will work on getting you registered for it with NTN. Also, be sure to book your half day sub with Pam. You would be gone from 8am-12pm.
Common Core Resources - I helped facilitate a district middle school common core training last week and got a hold of some great resources! See below! I've also posted these to our Center for Excellence Google Site.
Six ELA Instructional Shifts - Six things to do in your classroom to better align your classroom to the common core. The big thing is pushing students to read and access information from text.
ELA Bookmarks - A break down of the common core ELA standards. Includes question stems, prompts, tier 2 vocabulary terms, and Spanish cognates to support your English Language Learners.
Comparison of current math standards and CCSS - A comparison of the current California math standards and the CCSS.
Calendar in Staff Room - It came up at a recent staff meeting that there was a need to see where everyone was at in their projects in a one stop shop. There is now a calendar on the white board in the staff room. Please do use it to let the staff know when you are rolling out projects, doing presentations, doing cool labs, etc. No need to put everything on it, just the major phases or activities in a project. If you see something that you would like to see, let Peter or Christie know who will make an effort to release you from your class to observe.
