Celebrations All The Way Around

This was one busy week. Thank you all for staying the course and powering through the middle of October. I think educators need to coin some kind of inside acronym about the month of October. When I was an upstart teacher in the early '90's, every October I would seriously start talking to my husband about leaving the profession. Finally, after oh say six years of this frustrated October-talk, my husband started to say to me, "You know, you feel this way every October." The excitement of the start up of a new school year has entirely worn off, and October is just a darn long month without any time off, and it's grueling. So just remember, if you feel a bit over-extended and stressed, it IS the middle of October, and that's a tough month for educators.

On the bright side, lots of great activity happening here at New Tech this week. Here's just a tiny sampling
  • Piano arrives, students plunk away, piano moves to a portable;
  • Laser cutter arrives, Patrick makes lots of smoky activity, Shawn carries around precisely carved planks of wood;
  • Students interview WW 2 vets, New Tech makes the front page of the Register!  Just doin' what we do~ great work with your students, Dr Brown!
  • Freshman trek to Lake Berryessa area for field trip activity, and most of them avoid being stung by bees. Thanks to you courageous chaperones: Christie, Peter, Tom Wolf, Lacey, Karen. It was SO QUIET around campus without those freshman.
  • Project launches all over the place!
Please add additional recognitions by writing a COMMENT here!
Thanks for all you do!
Sincerely, Michelle
