We will be facilitating the 9th grade College and Work Readiness Assessment (CWRA) exam on Wednesday October 26th in their Spatial Studies courses. The CWRA is designed for high schools to measure institutional contributions to student learning through the use of Performance Tasks. Students throughout the New Tech Network participate in the CWRA in their 9th and 12th grade years. The results are tracked longitudinally, so that we can measure our students growth over time, and the impact that our school program has on their success. Seniors will take the CWRA in the Spring. Thanks in advance for supporting what may be a busy, chaotic day for us all on Wednesday!
Wednesday, October 26th is our next Mandatory Staff Development day. Go to the Google Doc titled, "Staff Meetings 2011-12" any time you want to see upcoming agendas. We will start the meeting off with our celebrations of each other. Think about your fellow staff and take the time to acknowledge the little things that they do that make a difference in your lives and our students lives. I will purchase small tokens of appreciation, so please fill out this Google form by Tuesday at 4:00 so that I know how many people are being recognized.
Last night at the NVUSD Board Meeting we recognized our September and October students of the month--Ruth Ortiz and Cameron Busquaert. Both students made thoughtful speeches about themselves and about New Tech's impact on their learning and lives, and were very well received by the Board. Be sure to extend your congratulations to Ruth and Cameron!
