News from the Week

Happy Friday Everyone!

I'm sorry that this blog is going out on Friday afternoon instead of Friday at lunch. I realize that some of you may not end up reading it until Monday. Sorry for my delay this week!

Here is a link to a memo from the District Office about the unique challenges to attend to standards blended into Project-based Learning. I genuinely believe that New Tech is ahead of the pack with doing this, but that we still have room to get even better. Please read the attached memo, and feel free to share your thoughts (either by adding a comment in this blog, or by starting a discussion thread in Echo).

The NVUSD has secured additional funding to hire a K-8 PBL & School Development Coach, and are recruiting "high performing" PBL teachers from current sites for this position.  This will be a TOSA position, starting in January 2012. If you are interested in learning more, feel free to email Mark Morrison or American Canyon Middle School immediately, as they are collecting letters of interest right now. You New Tech folks are awesome, so you are prime candidates. Of course, if you leave us, we'll never forgive you (hee-hee, just kidding).

Enjoy your weekend, and remember, you are encouraged to dress up on Monday as a Salad Dressing. (Thanks Tom and Pam!)

Regards, Michelle
