Busy week this week:
Monday is Parents on Campus Day
Wednesday is a mandatory staff meeting
Friday is our Distinguished School visitation
Please consider applying for the open Advocate position here at New Tech next year. More info below.
NTAC here we come! I will be able to fund a minimum of 9 attendees (for now, and I'm still looking to secure the funds for more). We have priority slots for those interested in being a part of the Teacher Design Group to pilot performance assessments and tasks aligned with Common Core. This is exciting work and will require 3 days intense training at NTAC (Monday through Wed). First dibs were given to our Lab Classroom and Center for Excellence teachers, and of that group, far we have the following attendees who have accepted:
- Karen Provenza (Teacher Design Group representing English)
- Lacey Boatman (Teacher Design Group representing Art / CTE)
- Tom Wolf (Teacher Design Group representing Science)
- TBD Andre Baldauf (representing History)
- Christie Jouaneh (2nd year member of the Design Group)
I'd like to get a math person into this group! Math teachers let me know if you are interested. See below for more detailed information on the Teacher Design Group for Performance Tasks & Assessments!
We also have staff who were selected to be presenters or facilitators of workshops. This is confirmation to those of you that I have funding in place for you to attend NTAC also
I think I will have a few additional openings, so now is the time to let me know if you would like to attend NTAC from July 14th (Sunday fly into New Orleans) through Thursday July 18th. Shoot an email to me if you want to attend this amazing national conference, and if you want to be a part of the Teacher Design Group.
