Fundraising Opportunites

Teachers with students Grades 7-12...
How would you like to teach your students about alternative fuel vehicles and get $250 in funding?
It’s easy…Let me tell you how.
Host a National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey event!
What is Odyssey?
Odyssey is a nation-wide, biennial celebration dedicated to educating students on the importance of alternative fuels and advanced technology vehicles.
When is Odyssey?
The official date is October 18, 2012; however your school can host an event any time in October 2012 and still be considered for funding.
What about the funding?
The first 50 secondary schools to sign up to host an Odyssey event geared toward students in grades 7-12 will be eligible for $250 funding to offset any costs associated with their Odyssey event.  It doesn’t matter if your school spends no money or $200, the reimbursement is the same: $250.

The Odyssey Team at the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) has organized a Secondary School Site Coordinator’s Notebook filled with lesson plans, example events, and much more.  The Odyssey Team is also available to assist with site coordination and planning as well as providing posters, brochures, and student handouts.
Where do I sign up?

The “lesson plan” can be as simple as one page.  It should be an example of how a teacher incorporated ed1stop resources into the lesson (such as a video, a primary document or a photo).

The deadline for this contest has been extended to April 23.
